Get Involved

Volunteer

Want to get involved with the Louisville Loop? There are several ways you can help. Come build, preserve, and protect a part of our city’s rich heritage which highlights our unique neighborhoods and parks.

Whether you want to volunteer on your own or with your group or business, it's easy to find something to match your interests and time commitment!  Here are a few of the opportunities we have to get you involved:

  • Become a Loop Watch Volunteer– Have you always wanted to participate in a program where you can have fun, all while making an impcat on your community and staying active? If so then come out and be part of the Loop Watch! You will be our eyes and ears while on the Loop, looking for maintenance and safety issues and reporting them to the appropriate contacts. You will be able to promote the Loop and the exciting future it holds for this community, all while having fun and staying fit. Volunteers interested in this program are instructed what to look for, how to report issues, and where to get involved with clean-ups. Click here to see how you can join this exciting program! • Friends of the Loop - an advisory committee of volunteers is advising the city on how citizens can get involved with the Louisville Loop. In 2011 they helped organize two Loop day events, the development of the Loop Watch program, and advised on such issues as safety, maintenance, and potential routes.  In 2012 they plan to focus on developing the Friends of the Loop as a new 501c3 with opportunities for all those interested in making the Loop the best trail in America. For more information and to see how you can get involved please contact Steve Sizemore.

  • Individual or Group volunteer opportunities- Are you interested in getting involved cleaning the Loop? Whether it is picking up trash along the loop or something more involved, we can use your help to make the Louisville Loop look its best!  To see how you can get involved please contact Sherry Wright.
